De organisatie van Bospop liet vandaag weten dat Lionel Richie helaas zijn Europese tour voor dit jaar heeft gecanceld en dus ook dat hij niet naar Bospop komt.
Over het afzeggen van de tour schrijft Lionel Richie op Facebook:
“As Covid and its variants continue to impact the world, I have decided to hold off on my European tour this summer. The most important thing to me is the health of my fans, band and crew. I hope you all understand and I hope to see you very soon when we can all gather safely.“.
Dit betekent voor de organisatie dat zij voor vrijdag 8 juli op zoek moeten naar een nieuwe headliner.
Bospop viert dit jaar het uitgestelde 40 jarige jubileum en de line-up ziet er nu als volgt uit:
Vrijdag 8 juli
Headliner wordt nog bekend gemaakt, Rag’n’Bone Man, Melissa Etheridge, White Lies, Level 42, Jett Rebel, The Struts, Inge van Calkar, Gary Moore Tribute Band.
Zaterdag 9 juli
Sting, Sinead O’connor, Passenger, Steve Vai, Heather Nova, Natasha Bedingfield, De Dijk, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, The Record Company, Tim Montana, Gin Lady.
Zondag 10 juli
Kensington, Beth Hart, Juanes, Seasick Steve, Yola, Bløf, The Allman Betts Band, Walter Trout, Son Mieux, Larkin Poe, Sloper, Robert Jon & The Wreck, Goodbye June
